Hello friends,
As the Rabi season started in North and record procurement compared to last years figures for corresponding period are reported, FCI faces new challenges in the form of Shortage in space for Wheat and Rice. The main Procurement states are already reeling under the pressure of Space crunch whereas the common man is reeling under the pressure of high prices of cereals.
A lot were done by the Government so far to intervene in the market. But are these steps ensuring a fall in commodity prices? What needs to be done? How can FCI possibily overcome this crisis situation? Are we creating a trap for ourselves wherein the lusture lost wheat might get stuck up in our godowns unlike 2002 when the exports and OMSS came to our rescue??? Are we sitting on a ticking time bomb?
Let us discuss..
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Syju.
