    Pension for FCI Staff

Post by yschandr on Sat Jul 16, 2011 2:47 pm

    Hi,

Currently FCI staffs are getting only pension which is being paid by EPF. Is there any possibility of getting pension just like other central government departments.

Since, the amount we get is hardly Rs.1,500/- per month, which is not sufficient even for purchase of milk.

Atleast we need minimum of Rs.10,000/- per month as pension to lead just a normal life.

Kindly advice on the further improvements.

    Thanks,

Employees joining the Central Govt. after 2004 are now covered under NPS which is a defined contribution based scheme.

The DPE guidelines in the recent pay revision provided for defined contribution based pension scheme.
The Association took the lead and thanks to equal co-operation of the Unions, the FCI BoD has now approved a employer funded defined contribution based pension plan where employer would provide 10% of Basic and DA and employee would provide 2% of Basic and DA. However, this would be applicable only to persons on the payroll as on 1.1.2007.

It has been sent to the Ministry for approval.

@yschandr As per profile information, you had joined FCI in 1950. To my knowledge, at that time FCI did not exist. So, I would presume that you are a Food Tranferee and covered under the provisions of Sec 12A of the FCI Act.

    Sir
Any information regarding to the scale up-gradation and pension scheme? I think Scale up-gradation is not about increase in scale only but it is about treatment of FCI officers at par with the other organisations. In terms of turnover we stand 4th just after the OIL companies......
